YALAWARDS HISTORY

Every day, the amount of hard work and dedication young people put in by keeping the world healthy, safe, developed, and educated is truly inspiring.

To respond to these great efforts, in 2019, Young African Leaders Awards (YALAWARDS) was established by African Youth Architects to recognize and celebrate the incredible contribution of young people who are taking the lead towards the attainment of UN Sustainable Development Goals & Agenda 2063 of the African Union.

The original idea of the award competition came from Fatou Hydra and Emamsy Mbossa. The aim was to build a platform that celebrates and honors exceptional young leaders for their significant contributions towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals & Agenda 2063 of the African Union.

The Young African Leaders Awards are committed to celebrating the long-standing efforts and achievements of youth and youth groups throughout Africa and around the world.
