We’ve made the difficult decision to postpone our annual Young African Leaders Awards ceremony this September coming to 2021 in light of the ongoing COVID-19 developments. We would have not wanted to do this, but we have to think about everyone’s health, travel restrictions and corona virus spreading in the award host country Morocco.

Last years, Young African Leaders Awards have recognized and honored the hard work and dedication of exceptional young African leaders for their professional accomplishments and their leadership role to make Africa and the world a better place. We’re genuinely sad not to be able to share the experiences of these individuals this year. But this does not mean our work will stop, the selection process is underway to have our finalists of winners.

We want to thank all our previous winners, finalists, sponsors and partners for their support and encouragement over the months. As we are frequently reminded, these awards recognize the significant contribution of young people from Africa and around the world, and to encourage young people to strive for their best and continue doing what they love and enjoy. For this reason, we fully intend to continue hosting the award ceremony in 2021 and beyond. We will be working with our network to finalize the details and will share more information in the New Year.

The whole African Youth Architects team wants to thank you for your support in Young African Leaders Awards. We will come bigger and better next year!

We wish you HEALTH and stay SAFE!
